A Master of Sacred Theology (STM) enables you to engage in advanced academic work  in an aspect of, or an area within, theological inquiry in service of the church and the world.

STM Learning Outcomes:

1.    Articulate in-depth, critical, and constructive engagement with theological traditions while attending to diverse disciplinary and cultural perspectives.

2.    Employ advanced skills in scholarly research and application necessary for public leadership with academic integrity.

3.    Demonstrate capacity to participate in and collaborate across academic disciplines and communities.

An STM student should choose a “Specialization” from among the following broad areas, as part of the application process. Ordinarily, the “Specialization” will be within the area of the student’s thesis or project.  An STM student should complete 6 credits in the “Specialization,” but should also focus other courses on their Specialization, in consultation with course instructors.
